BackMulti-Academy Trust Maths Leads Community
This community supports those who lead maths across MATs to embed teaching for mastery at scale. Participants will deepen their understanding of effective pedagogy, leadership roles, and build capacity with colleagues to transform maths teaching and learning.
Alongside attending sessions, participants will join an active online community and gain access to national expertise to enhance their ongoing development.

What Will You Learn?
Participants will develop the skills and knowledge to lead effective, sustainable maths teaching across their schools and trusts.
They will:
- Promote a shared vision and culture for high-quality maths teaching.
- Design coherent, mastery-focused curricula with strong pedagogical foundations.
- Lead and manage curriculum and teaching improvements across schools.
- Collaborate with peers to reflect on and enhance practice.
- Support professional development within and across departments.
- Understand and apply NCETM’s Essence of Teaching for Mastery.
- Build leadership skills to drive curriculum and pedagogical change.
- Foster a culture of sustained, collaborative professional learning.
What is involved?
Participants will attend three full-day face to face workshops and complete practice-based tasks between sessions.
Who can take part?
The community is for MAT maths leads overseeing multiple schools – both new and returning participants. MATs must support participants to attend three in-person days and take part in inter-sessional activity.
