- Work towards developing their understanding of how to suitably scaffold support/resources to meet the needs of their students.
Students will:
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards the learning of maths.
- Think, reason and discuss their maths to deepen their understanding.
What is involved?
Teaching Assistants will :
- Attend four afternoon online sessions and two further face-to-face days throughout the course of the academic year.
- Between sessions, participants will contribute to the community, complete school-based tasks, and share their reflections through discussions with peers.
Who can take part?
This programme is for teaching assistants who work predominantly with students in the KS3 maths classroom or who lead intervention sessions with groups of students. It is recommended that participants’ schools are engaged with a Teaching for Mastery Work Group as this programme is designed to complement and build on that provision.
